Last week, nature and innovation came together in a spectacular celebration at The Waratah, where Feels Botanical had the honour of collaborating with Cologne’s Woods Bar and its internationally acclaimed head bartender, René Karthauser.
It was an evening filled with extraordinary cocktails and shared stories, blending the ancient forests of Germany with the rugged landscapes of Australia. René, a global top-three Rookie Scholarship finalist, crafted an inspiring menu that echoed his ethos of creativity and sustainability—values we at Feels Botanical share wholeheartedly.
Alongside Andie Bulley, The Waratah’s Creative Lead and ALIA finalist for Best Bartender, the night was an unforgettable meeting of minds. Together, they wove a cocktail experience that paid tribute to both Woods Bar’s traditions and Feels Botanical’s native Australian ingredients, showcasing the true harmony of two distinct but connected worlds.
The cocktails flowed, each one telling a story through carefully selected, sustainably sourced botanicals from Australia, blended with the inspiration of Germany's ancient woodlands. From the unique tartness of Davidson Plum to the deep spice of Kakadu Plum, the night was an exploration of nature’s richness, with each sip connecting the landscapes of Europe and Australia.
